At noon on November 17, the Evidence-based Research Center for Education Assessment held a regular seminar in the Old Science and Technology Building. The seminar was chaired by Professor Huang Jinyan and was attended by Associate Professor Kang Cui, teacher Zhang Li, and five graduate students from the Research Center.
The topic of this conference was “Research Ethics Review.” Professor Huang Jinyan provided an overview of the key components of the study ethics review application, encompassing the cover page, responses to the six inquiry points, the information letter and consent form, and the data collecting instrument. Emphasis was placed on completing all four sections before commencing the research endeavor. The application should be emailed to Professor Huang Jinyan, Chairman of the Research Ethics Review Committee. Then, Professor Huang used examples to elaborate the content of the research ethics review further and required every graduate student to submit an ethical review application and conduct an ethical review before doing research.
Researchers must adhere to the established code of conduct or norms that are universally acknowledged within the scientific community. Additionally, researchers should promptly adapt their interactions with subjects as necessary and ensure their research is conducted ethically. The conference offered a comprehensive set of rules and valuable information to the teachers and students of the Research Center, enabling them to carry out ethical educational research effectively.
